The 政治、哲学和经济学 (PPE) major is an interdisciplinary program that combines studies in political science, 哲学, 和经济学, 和 requires a minimum 89–90 学分, including 42–47 upper-division 学分. When you seek a bachelor’s degree in PPE, you will take a core of classes from each of these three disciplines. You will also choose from one of the following concentrations:
- 应用经济学专业: Designed for students interested in studying the allocation of resources 和 its effects on human welfare.
- 金融经济学专业: Prepares students for careers in the world of finance 和 investments.
- 国际事务方向: Best for students interested in international politics.
- 法律浓度: For students interested in attending law school or working in a policy-making career.
- 哲学浓度: Designed for students interested in more closely studying “great ideas” 和 the presuppositions behind many arguments.
- 公共管理专业: Designed for those interested in pursuing careers in public or voluntary sector administration.
- 社会企业集中度: Designed for students interested in focusing on how business can directly address social problems such as poverty 和/or environmental sustainability.

Newly admitted students of majors in Business; 会计; 经济学; International Sustainable Development; 和 政治、哲学和经济学 are required to attend an orientation event typically held in February each year. Admission to the major is conditional upon attendance.

In order to earn a degree, you must complete at least one academic major. SPU encourages students to explore various academic paths, so if you change your mind about a major or minor, or want to include an additional program, 你可以这样做, 如下所述.
Note that the University encourages you to enter your chosen major(s) 和 minor(s) by the start of your junior year. Students who transfer as juniors 和 seniors should enter a major within their first two quarters at SPU.

- The University requires a grade of C- or better in all classes that apply to a major or minor; however, programs may require higher minimum grades in specific courses. You may repeat an SPU course only once for a higher grade.
